Creator of Nu Healing Arts
Geoff "Geo" Edwards, M.S., M.OM., L.Ac.
As a young man I committed myself to being a positive contribution to the world around me. At that moment the stage was set for the rites I would have to endure to manifest that vision. There have been births, marriages, life, deaths, sickness and health along the way. I have met a host of mentors, guides, and supporters who would teach me to use poems, paintings, drums, needles and herbs as tools. Nu Healing Arts is the offspring of all that I have learned thus far on this journey. It is my path that I share with others in hopes that they will be equally transformed as I have been.
Education & Training
Geoff attended Jackson State University where he earned his Bachelors degree in Psychology, with a minor in Fine Art graduating Summa Cum Laude. Geoff began his work in healthcare as an art therapist in Virginia and after working several years with adolescents and adults in public schools, detention centers, and acute psychiatric settings in the DC Metro area, he realized that he wanted to provide his clients and their families with a more comprehensive, holistic approach to care. This led him to begin his studies at Tai Sophia Institute (MUIH).
Geoff currently holds a Master of Science in Art Therapy from Mount Mary College, as well as a Masters of Oriental Medicine and Graduate Certificate in Chinese herbs from Maryland University of Integrative Health (formerly Tai Sophia Institute). He is a licensed acupuncturist in the District of Columbia and the State of Wisconsin.
